This is excellent news! My home QTH is Anglesey and I am QRV on D-Star or DV mode only when I’m operating mobile outside the North Wales area.

It’s a great mode with a lot to offer, either simplex or via a repeater or node – and with GPS position reporting via APRS and messaging with D-RATS, for example, there’s more than just voice in the whole package!

Well done to all concerned and many thanks indeed!

Well Rob, thanks for the vote of confidence, now how about you grab an application form from the ETCC and host the first DV node on Anglesey?? (-:

Excellent news! I was nearly going to sell my 2820 too – I’ll be keeping it now!

    Hey Kev,

I monitor GB7WP (Wirral) and GB7WC (Warrington) as well as 144.6125 (DV calling channel) most evenings. Alex 2W0GIX is also active on D-Star locally and there are more and more stations appearing recently. Once the DV Gateway is up and running, a few local stations have expressed interest in aquiring DV kit.

To be honest, the radio is in it’s box at the moment and hasn’t been used for months, I’ve been too busy with work.

I’ve unsuccesfullly tried to get WP from the QTH – I haven’t tried with the new mast up, I’d have more chance with it at full height, need to get the 70cm yagi on there!

I’ll try and find some time and give you a call đŸ™‚
