Ofcom extends Amateur Radio 5 MHz experiment until 2015

The UK regulator Ofcom has extended Amateur Radio use of frequencies in the 5 MHz experimental band until June 30, 2015.

Existing 5 MHz Notices of Variation (NoVs) are due to expire on June 30, 2010. Following consent from the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Ofcom now permits operation of stations by amateur radio (Full) Licensees using specified frequencies in the 5 MHz experimental band until 30 June 2015.
