The ‘usual crew’ put on a special event station at Ysgol Pen Y Bryn in Colwyn Heights this Saturday 3rd July. It was a beautiful day and we arrived on site at around 9.30 with the mobile shack ready to set up. We decided to try out the club’s new Cushcraft R8 kindly donated by Mr Tony Wilkinson GW4PVU. This was mounted on the drawbar of the caravan on top of an 8′ scaffold tube. This worked well, good news as the ariel will be permanently sited at the club from next week. We also ran 2m and gave a few points away in the contest. A good day was had by all, the motto of the club being you get out what you put in was true once again.
It was a great day and nice to be able to work some different locations on 2m USB. It’ll be even better when we get the new antenna up at the club.
Sorry I could not make it but I was otherwise booked as transport manager and DJ for the BOSS at her church fair. Glad everything went well and the day was a success
