North Wales Radio Society - GB3GO 2 metre repeater

GB3GO Status: Fully Operational

Planned maintenance: Replacement of the antenna system will be carried out as soon as the weather allows.

November '08 - UPDATE: Temporary repairs have now been carried out, this has rectified the minor problem experienced during the recent high winds. New parts have been ordered and are currently being manufactured to specifications, they will be installed along with a new antenna system as soon as the weather breaks.

News - GB3LQ & GB3LL : In order to restore 70cm repeater coverage to the North Wales coastline, an application for a new 70cm voice repeater (GB3LQ) has been made. However, GB3LL still physically exists despite being 'off air' for several months having died a very slow death. Clearly it is not possible (nor sensible) to have two voice repeaters serving the same area, on the same band. So, whether GB3LL is restored (offers have been made by us to replace the equipment) or a license for GB3LQ is granted, we hope to see a working UHF repeater for North Wales very soon.

January 14th 2010 Update: GB3LL is still off the air and we have not heard a whisper from the powers-that-be. One could easily be forgiven for thinking that someone does not want North Wales to have a 70cm repeater, however we are sure that is not the case and that GB3LL will be up and running within the next couple of weeks. We'll try to keep you updated so watch this space.

January 17th 2010 Update: After an informal chat with Dave Wilson (President of the R.S.G.B.) at the Red Rose Rally today, he assured us he would look into the situation with a view to a swift resolution, we await his findings.
