MB7IMB Echolink

Please give your callsign prior to sending DTMF tones !!!

Could I ask all stations who access the node using radio to please leave a 4 second gap between overs and announce their callsign prior to sending tones. It is a condition of the Echolink Service that initial transmissions are preceeded by a callsign. Without identifying yourself you are illegally broadcasting and if reported, may lose your license. But more importantly, you are driving me mad!!! I have no idea if you are licenced amateurs tapping away on the keypad for dear life, or an IQZero who has found a new toy to abuse. Whoever you may be, please read the instructions below, use the system properly and most of all enjoy!

There are a lot of stations locally making connections on the link and immediately disconnecting when they dont hear instant activity, that is not how to use the system. The idea is to connect then call to stations who may be monitoring. There are only maybe 3 stations locally using the system as intended and it works very well for them. Rapidly connecting /disconnecting is happening hundreds of times per day. This must be very frustrating to the ops who are not making QSO’s, once again, please read the instructions below.

Thanks, Mark MW0RKB
